A simple breathing practice to manage chronic fatigue
Chronic fatigue can make it virtually impossible to get out of bed on most days. This breathing practice can help alleviate some of the "got-thrown-under-the-bus-then-trampled-by-a-stampede" feeling. Do this in bed, seated, or anywhere that feels comfortable.
About the breathing practice
UJJAYI PRANAYAMA
The word ujjayi translates into “victory,” and so one can say that this is the practice of the breath of “victory” — victory of mastery and management of the body-mind complex.
The air passageway is slightly narrowed in this particular breathing practice to create a sound similar to that of ocean waves. The sound itself is soothing for the mind, but can also be slightly stimulating (in a gentle way) for the body.

Who shouldn’t do it: Pregnancy and those taking immunosuppressants for organ transplants.
You can start by practicing this breath for 5-10 minutes daily — in the morning if you wake up feeling like you never slept, during the day when that brick hits, or at night when sleep feels elusive. You can slowly build it up to 20 minutes, either in one setting, or in two separate practices (e.g., once in the morning, and once at night).
Some immediate effects that you may feel are: calming, relaxing, more clarity and ease in the mind.
Some long-term effects (after continuous practice over a few weeks) are: better energy management (less roller coaster), improved body temperature regulations, less likely to feel overwhelmed.
Word to the wise: If you don't get it the first few times, do not fret! This technique does take some time and practice, but if you find that it causes more frustration or discomfort, do not continue. This breathing practice may not be suitable for everybody.
